Description
The Marimekko Rusakko plate is adorned with a bold print designed by Aino-Maija Metsola. The 20-centimetre plate can be used as a salad or dessert plate.
Designed in 2021, the ornamental, somewhat abstract Rusakko print nods to folklore, only revealing its motif upon further inspection: the print depicts a big hare crouching amongst the shrubs, ready to leap at any moment – the name Rusakko translates to "brown hare". Aino Maija Metsola drew the original design on paper with a bottle pen marker and a paintbrush, after which she digitally coloured it with vibrant, strong hues.
